For best result it is recommended to clean the instrument throughly before arranging it suitably in the try. Eight to ten formalin tabs should be kept exposed in the cabinet for overnight vapour saturation. Subsequently only twenty to sixty minutes of exposure will be required to ensure satisfactory sterilization. This time period, of course, depends on the concentration of formalin.
